EzWinScore® Support

PLEASE NOTE: Effective August 10th, the USPSA Match Results and Classification Upload system will NOT accept any data from any version of EzWinScore prior to 4.03. This is necessary to lay the framework for support of some new website functionality that USPSA has planned.

What's new in Version 4.03

  • Corrected error in printed report for Stage Profiles. (setup_d.dll 4.0.3.3)
  • Corrected error where the cursor started in the A zone hits box instead of the search box, and error with tab order when entering all scores for a single competitor. (match.dll 4.0.3.3)
  • Modifed the registration message box that asked if user wanted to make the current entry the primary if that person had been registered. This was an opposite behavior from previous versions that asked if user wanted to make it a reentry. This modification returns the behavior to previous versions. (setup2.dll 4.0.3.3)
  • The Form Letters window did not open any more. USPSA discovered for unknown reasons it is now necessary to distribute additional system dlls to make it work again.
  • Form Letters help menu was still trying to open the obsolete help file. Change menu to open the new HTML help file. (menu.dll 4.0.3.3)
  • Some non-members were being registered without owing fees. This bug has been corrected. (setup2.dll 4.0.3.3)

What's new in Version 4.02

  • Corrects an error in Classification update processing with "X" class being applied without 60-day grace period.
  • Corrected a problem with Desktop shortcut pointing to a non-existant icon file.
  • Corrected a problem with using 8/* key on number row of a regular QWERTY keyboard. (Does not affect scoring using 10-key pad.)

What's new in Version 4.01

  • Corrects a formatting error in webfile.txt for 3-Gun tournament results uploads. (Does not affect uploads for any other type of match.)

What's new in Version 4.00

Quite a lot, actually!

  • Major Enhancement: You finally have full support for USPSA Multigun matches! You can create a multigun match in EzWinScore 4.0 and register competitors, selecting different power factors for different firearm types. (Major pistol, minor rifle, etc.) When you enter scores, you enter numbers of A's, C's, etc for each gun type defined within that stage. You NO LONGER have to manually keep track of the number of non-A zone hits. 'Verification for Stats' reporting shows separate hits by gun type. "Competitor Lists" show separate power factors. All this means that the manual error-prone San Angelo scoring method is now a thing of the past, and it will make multigun matches a WHOLE LOT easier to score! You can also score a Multigun match using TimePlus in addition to regular comstock.
  • Enhancement: Adds a Press Release List option to Competitor Reports, with the ability to exclude competitors in registration if they don't want to be included in press releases issued for major matches by USPSA.
  • Enhancement: Improves handling of match re-entries, with ability to delete membership numbers or Pen from the match registration list.
  • Enhancement: Adds the ability to remove membership numbers from the master database.
  • Enhancement: Classification updates against the masternames.db file now adjust the USPSA member number prefix when that changes. This means if your membership number changes from A1234 to TY1234, that will be reflected in your masternames.db database. (This does not occur when updating classifications in a match database file, so the recommended procedure now is to update masternames.db before you begin registering people in your match, so that USPSA numbers will be correct.) This feature does not extend to regular memberships that change over to Life memberships, as those are a completely different numbering system.
  • Enhancement: Adds 14 new classifier stages in the 09 series, and deletes 3 old classifiers (99-39, 99-55, and 99-58).
  • Enhancement: Includes all appropriate Multi-Gun divisions in competitor registration when the match is designated as a Multi-Gun match on the Match Information form.
  • Enhancement: Updates traditional 3-Gun tournaments with all current divisions.
  • Deletes all IPSC classifiers that used the Metric targets.

What's new in Version 3.06

  • Fixes problem with entering zero times in multiple string stages. (Note: Zeros will not display in the time boxes, and the correct way to denote a competitor's score on a single-string stage where he never fired the first round is still to use the "DNF" (Did Not Fire) pulldown on the Score Entry form.)
  • Fixes problem where a lower classifier score could be included in the classifier upload file instead of the highest classifier score.
  • Fixes a cosmetic-only issue in Results reporting in a match scored with combined divisions where the report header disclaimer for unofficial results read "zzzCombined divisions...".

What's new in Version 3.05

  • Deletes classifier 06-11 (Infofile 3.04)
  • Fixes cursor behavior problem on Enter Scores window.

What's new in Version 3.04

  • Corrects age field problem when registering a competitor from the master database.
  • Opening existing databases with age field problem with automatically correct the error.
  • Fixes problem of PEN deleting numeric portion of first competitor's membership number.
  • Improves detection of re-entries.
  • Adds checking to the self-installing .exe file to refuse to proceed with the update if EzWinScore is up and running on the computer.

What's new in Version 3.03

  • Added ability to remove PEN prefix from non-members in registration form.
  • Enhancement: Restored Law and Military as awardable categories per the 2008 USPSA Rulebook.
  • Added more information to the classifier upload file for IPSC classifier reports.
  • Enhancement: Added more fields to the Export Registration form; most of which pertain to long guns in tournaments (such as powerfactors, divisions, and aggregate division).
  • Fixed problem with importing Fixed Time scores from Palm devices.
  • Major Enhancement: Added ability to create bar code competitor labels (stage-specific or generic) to use with bar code scanners. Stage-specific labels take you to the stage and competitor; generic labels take you to the competitor in whichever stage you currently have selected.
  • Enhancement: Added the ability, when creating stage-specific competitor labels, to print extra labels (regular or barcode) for things like chronograph and/or reshoots. (Not to be confused with the Nationals-style generic labels, where you just tell the system to print 'x'-number of labels per competitor and any label works for any stage.)
  • Enhancement: Added an "Erase" cmdbutton to the Score Entry form that you can completely delete an already entered score such that the system thinks it was never entered in the first place. Useful for when you enter the wrong scoresheet for the wrong competitor.
  • Enhancement: Added several new classifier courses, and deleted several courses because of rule changes. (infofile version 3.03).
  • Corrected problem of Recently Opened Matches (renamed from Registry Cleanup) filenames wrapping out of view.

What's new in Version 3.02

  • Enhancement: Removed the miss penalty box when the stage is defined as a Fixed Time stage.
  • Enhancement: Added power factor to list of data that can be exported from the registration list.
  • Fixed a problem with competitors not being included in webfile.txt because of a bad age field.
  • Corrected problem of path to the exported registration file wrapping out of view.
  • Enhancement: Added support for 3 Gun matches to the Palm scoring interface.
  • Enhancement: Replaced old .chm-style help with new HTML help and re-integrated it back into the system.
  • Corrected fee error in classifier upload file.
  • Corrected misspelling in Export Registration window.

What's new in Version 3.01

  • Fixed a problem with creating squadding_upload.txt in which under some circumstances some competitors were not included in the squadding list.
  • Fixed a cosmetic problem with changing power factors where after the user changed a competitor to minor power factor, the program would continue to display Major power on the registration screen.
  • Fixed a problem where under some circumstances, some competitors were not included in the uploaded match results because of a bad email field.
  • Enhancement: Modifed power factor field to show grayed out when Production division is selected.
  • Enhancement: Modified code that stores the user's preference for match database storage.
  • Fixed a problem with the Palm software interface.

What's new in Version 3.0

  • Added IPSC rifle and shotgun divisions and power factors to infofile version 3.00.
  • Added code to properly select IPSC Tournament division based on the selected pistol, rifle, and shotgun divisions.
  • Added code to limit file names for matches to 32 characters to comply with Windows(TM) ODBC data source name length restriction.
  • Redesigned the About window.
  • Fixed the version number display so that the correct program version is shown.
  • Fixed the problem where the power factor stayed at Minor after changing the division from Production to any other division. (Note: we had to back this out for 3.01 in order to fix other, more serious issues with the power factor control.)
  • Edited Infofile to have IPSC 3-Gun match tournament scores calculated by adding firearm match percents instead of match points.
  • Major Enhancement: Added IPSC classifier courses to the infofile so they are available during stage setup of IPSC-type matches.
  • Major Enhancement: Added ability to create and submit classifier upload files with correct activity fees for IPSC-type matches.
  • Major Enhancement: Added the ability to create generic Nationals-style stage labels in user-defined quantities.
  • Redesigned the menu and button bar look.
  • Major Enhancement: Added the ability to export match registration and master database lists to tab-separated or comma-separated text files.
  • Added an Open Recent Matches menu item, which also includes the ability to delete registry entries for all old matches.
  • Major Enhancement: The palm scoring export/import functions have been greatly expanded.
  • Improved the Classification Update code to look for changed prefixes for annual-type members, and to also add/update IPSC classifications in IPSC-type matches. The improved update procedure requires using a new downloadable classification update text file named ez_class_update.txt.
  • Major Enhancement: Added ability to import/export On-Line Squadding information from/to the USPSA web site.
  • Modified Missing Scoresheets window to give user the option of excluding no-show competitors from the listings (competitors who have not shot any stages), and to also optionally mark these no-shows as deleted from the match.
  • Added code to automatically convert older match databases to the new format when an older match file is opened, and to also convert the master database to the new format on an as-needed basis. This will ensure that in the event you restore an older copy of your masternames.db file, it will again be converted to the new format.
  • Updated the Help file.
